Amman – 9 September 2026 – Chairman of the Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC), Hazim Al-Majali, reaffirmed Jordan’s continued efforts to strengthen the national integrity system through an integrated approach combining prevention, institutional integrity, corruption risk management, public participation and law enforcement.
Speaking during a meeting at his office today with François Valérian, Chair of Transparency International, and Abeer Mdanat, Member of the Board of Transparency International and Executive Director of Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency – Transparency International Jordan, Al-Majali stressed that promoting integrity and preventing corruption constitute a shared national responsibility requiring coordinated efforts by public institutions, civil society, the private sector and international partners.
Al-Majali expressed his appreciation for the existing cooperation with Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency and JIACC’s aspiration to strengthen its engagement with Transparency International in areas where its international expertise can support the implementation of the Commission’s national priorities.
For his part, Valérian emphasised the importance of continued cooperation and exchange of expertise between Transparency International, Rasheed and JIACC to ensure the sustainability of governance-related initiatives. He described this relationship as a positive model in the region that can be further developed in partnership with governmental institutions and civil society organisations.
Mdanat, meanwhile, expressed her hope that strong progress could be made towards implementing the second phase of the performance indicators related to the National Integrity Roadmap, including measures concerning financial institutions in the areas of anti-money laundering and beneficial ownership transparency. She noted that such measures would contribute to protecting the national economy, enhancing transparency in the financial information of companies and business entities, and supporting a transparent and integrity-based investment environment.
During the meeting, which was also attended by JIACC Vice-Chairman Sami Al-Salaita and Board Member Dr. Saad Al-Shihab, the two sides reviewed key areas for future cooperation between the Commission and Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency, emphasising the importance of building on the progress achieved under the National Integrity Roadmap.
